Born Filipina from Korean ancestry, Amanda Adams was raised by her American liberal father. Like many of today's young artists, she draws musical influences from the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, and Jewel.

Her chance meeting with Bel Sayson at 6Underground bar proved to be the turning point when he arranged two of her songs and eventually produced it with the help of musician friends Iggy Bilbao and Rommel dela Cruz. Thus the birth of The Amandas.
