Different. Sexy. Experimental. These are just the three words that best describe Lowela. In each gig, the band never fails to show the music lovers a whole new thing. They experiment with their own songs and and make it better on each next gig. Different because they always are and stand out in each gig they play for and with their sexy front girl, the guys are kept awed whenever she rocks the whole place. The band started back in August 2007 when JP Manansala who is the band’s current guitarist spotted on this petite girl in a choir practice at the South Western University. JP, Keith (bassist) and Val (drummer) stormed each other’s ideas and finally approached Lowela and talked their way in forming a band with her as the vocalist. Then Ted Garcia (guitarist) and Ernesto (turntable) joined in the band after a while. They played for the first time at the SWU Nursing Day and followed by SWU Siglakas in the same year and did cover songs for Cranberries, Jewel and Dido. They have decided that it was already the time for them to make their own songs and so they did. Their music is classified as rock -experimental that different local productions like Harakiri Mosh, OnLyViC, Skinny Buddha and Cebu Hour have started to invite them to play in bar gigs. They have played a couple of times at the Outpost, Club Nuvo, Zzubu Rockbar, Kartzone, Kukuk’s Nest and did some out of town gigs too! The band’s highlight was when they won champion among other local bands during the Rock to Fame Itzamatch band competition last November 28,2008 held at the Ayala Center Cebu.
